Kerry Weinrauch is based on Galiano Island, British Columbia, Canada. She works in 35mm, medium and polaroid formats. She has a degree in fashion design and comes from a background of fashion and costume design in the film industry and attended Emily Carr University of Art and Design to study photography.
Kerry’s evolution into photography includes her interests in dance, movement and nature. Her work evokes dreamy, painter-like qualities in the composition, subjects and tones. A great body of her work is in self portraiture as “she is always there”, turning the camera inward to express both conscious and subconscious emotions.
Her work has been featured in photography editorials, group shows and her work was part of a group exhibit with Fotofilmic/Pulp Gallery where her work was chosen for the event poster and was one of the top three selects by the guest artist for the exhibition. In addition, Kerry has been selected into an artist residency in France to explore her work in greater depth.
Kerry continues to build her body of work exploring various themes and narratives bringing an inherent voice to her artistic practice.
